Department Philosophy: Resilience Through Creativity At D-Y, we believe creative practices empower individual strengths while fostering essential resilience. In a diverse and nurturing environment, our art students explore and develop critical self-regulatory and personal management skills. We provide a path of possibilities that balances creative endeavors with rigorous college and career preparation, guided by an experienced and dedicated professional staff. Curriculum & Advanced Studies We offer a comprehensive, studio-based fine arts program that scales from foundational techniques to upper-level mastery.
● Introductory Courses: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Ceramics, Printmaking, and Mixed-Media.
● Advanced Tracks: Students can progress to specialized levels including Honors, Portfolio development, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
● Skill Integration: Technical and conceptual skill-building is available across all grades, ensuring a cohesive artistic trajectory throughout high school.
Exhibition & Professional Opportunities D-Y students are treated as emerging artists, with numerous platforms to showcase their work and gain industry insight.
