Healthy practices empower students to build confidence, resilience, and lifelong wellness skills.

Dennis-Yarmouth Health and Physical Education students develop physical literacy, self-awareness, and personal responsibility in a supportive and inclusive environment. Positive growth and achievement happen every day at D-Y as students strengthen both body and mind.

D-Y offers a comprehensive Health and Physical Education program that promotes lifelong fitness, informed decision-making, and overall well-being. Courses are designed to support students’ physical, mental, and social health through engaging instruction and active participation. Students explore topics such as nutrition, mental health, substance use prevention, personal safety, and healthy relationships, while participating in a wide variety of individual and team-based physical activities.

From foundational skill development to advanced fitness concepts, students build teamwork, leadership, and goal-setting skills that extend beyond the classroom. Physical education offerings include team sports, individual fitness activities, strength and conditioning, and lifetime recreational pursuits that encourage continued active lifestyles.

Through wellness education, fitness planning, and opportunities for collaboration and leadership, D-Y students are prepared to make healthy choices and maintain active, balanced lives well beyond high school.
