Hello, Dolphins!
We had another great week filled with growth and achievement here at D-Y High School. The first three days featured incredibly valuable learning walks, where our dedicated staff and educators from across the district collaborated to enhance our educational practices. A heartfelt thank you to your students for showcasing what we do best!
In partnership with Barnstable County Department of Human Services, we invite students up to grade 10 to offer their feedback through a survey. If interested, please find the flyer and survey link attached below.
As the colder weather sets in, I’d like to remind students and families about after-school supervision expectations. Students remaining after school for sports or co-curricular activities must be in the presence of their coach or advisor. Those staying for extra help should have an E-Hall Pass filled out and be with their teacher for the duration. No student is permitted in the building after school without supervision. Refer to the late bus information provided below for late bus information.
As we near the end of Term 1 on Wednesday, November 5th and start Term 2 on Thursday, November 6th, it's an opportune time for students to reflect on their achievements and set new goals. A special note for 8th graders: beginning new electives on November 6th might mean changes to lunch periods, so please remind students to check their schedules.
Tonight, we are excited for the football game! Please remember that while costumes are allowed, masks are not, to ensure everyone’s safety.
We are thrilled to spotlight a heartwarming, student-led initiative that honors the invaluable contributions of our dedicated teachers. In anticipation of the senior night football game, our Football Seniors recognized the significant influence their teachers have had on their journeys here at D-Y High School. These students approached the teacher who made a profound impact on their development and invited them to wear their jersey, symbolizing the dedication and hard work shared by both students and educators. It's a wonderful demonstration of gratitude and community spirit that we are proud to celebrate. Please check out our social media for more images.
Additionally, our D-Y Girls Hockey team is hosting a fundraiser—a fantastic afternoon filled with laughter for a great cause. Find the details below.
Lastly,
Cape Kids Meals is here to support families who might be experiencing added stress around food insecurity.
Have a fantastic weekend, stay safe, and remember to make sound decisions!
