At a glance

Hello, Dolphins!

This past week has been quite challenging for all of us. Together, we've faced experiences filled with uncertainty and grief. In these times, it's crucial to remember that our emotions are valid, and it's okay to feel unsure.

As we move forward, it can be helpful to establish routines and schedules. Having a consistent structure provides a foundation, especially when you are uncertain of what to do next. This stability can be comforting and can make transitioning through these periods of doubt feel a bit more manageable.

Remember, while paths through grief and healing are deeply personal, you are not alone. Our school community acknowledges the multifaceted struggles you may face, from ensuring the safety of loved ones to rebuilding what may have been lost. There is no one right way to navigate these challenges, nor is there a set timeline for healing.

Most importantly, we stand together. Our school is here to support each and every one of you. We encourage you to rely on the resources listed below, which aim to provide clarity and may assist in starting meaningful dialogues during these difficult times.

Together, we will find strength in our community. Please reach out to someone you trust at any time – we are here to stand with you.

We are reaching out to gather support through GoFundMe for families in Eastern Westmoreland, Jamaica—A D-Y High School staff member's beloved hometown, which recently suffered the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa. The destruction left countless families in dire need of essential resources. Her mission is to provide relief by shipping non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene products, and first aid supplies to the affected area.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring much-needed relief to those who have lost so much. Your kindness and generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of these families. Thank you for standing with us and supporting our efforts to rebuild and restore hope in Eastern Westmoreland.

Support one another. Have a great weekend.
