Hello, Dolphins!
We’ve had another great week here at D-Y High School! We are proud to share an exciting academic achievement! D-Y High School has earned Silver recognition on the College Board’s Advanced Placement School Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes schools across three categories:
- College Culture
- College Credit
- College Optimization
D-Y earned Silver in College Culture, with 61% of the Class of 2026 completing at least one AP course before graduation. We earned Gold in College Credit, with 35% of the Class of 2026 having earned college credit by scoring a 3 or higher on an AP Exam. Finally, we earned Gold in College Optimization, with 13% of the Class of 2026 taking 5 Advanced Placement courses across their high school years, including at least one in 9th or 10th grade.
I am incredibly proud of our teachers, counseling department, and—most importantly—our students for their hard work, dedication, and effort. This recognition reflects the collective commitment of our entire school community.
Our winter sports and clubs are underway, with our student-athletes demonstrating tremendous grit, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Our Competition Robotics season has been full of leagues and tournaments. Yesterday marked the first day of ranking matches in our D-Y League, and three Dolphin Robotics teams are currently ranked in the top five. We have two more days of ranking matches before the league’s elimination tournament. Tomorrow we travel to Monomoy for an all‑day competition, followed by three more days of our D-Y “Cape Pod” Robotics League. One of our teams has already qualified for the State Championship in March. Go Dolphins!
We also celebrated our Unified Basketball Team with a Dolphin Send-Off as they prepare to play at TD Garden on Sunday—go Dolphins!
Please remember, last day of Semester 1 is Friday, January 23rd, and Semester 2 begins on Monday, January 26th.
Remember we approach this transition, please take some time to reflect on the goals you have set for yourself and use these final weeks of the semester to take meaningful steps toward achieving them.
Have a great weekend!
