Hello Dolphins,
We have several celebrations to share with you. First, a big shout-out to our National Honor Society—blood drive results are in, and this was our most successful drive yet. In the fall, we collected 19 pints, and this spring we collected 23 pints, for a total of 42 pints that will stay on Cape Cod and serve our community.
We also invite you to view our students’ artwork in the 2026 MAEA Recognitions Exhibit using this
link , and to join us in congratulating the members of our National Music Honor Society, Tri-M, on a wonderful induction this week and on their outstanding achievements in music.
As we look ahead, we are gearing up for our MCAS season. Students in grades 8 and 10 will be taking MCAS in ELA, Math, Science, and Civics from March through June. Families, please support students by encouraging them to treat MCAS as an important opportunity to show what they know—because it truly matters. Encourage your student to get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, bring what they need and arrive on time, read carefully, use all of the time they are given, and avoid rushing just to be done.
We’re excited to celebrate our bilingual students who participated in the Seal of Biliteracy test this week. This assessment provides students with an official seal on their transcript, recognizing proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in at least two languages. Achieving this has been a long-standing goal for Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, and we are especially proud of our first group of graduates to participate in this opportunity. We are confident that their results will be outstanding.
Finally, a huge shout-out to our Social Studies Department for hosting another amazing Civics Day. Students in 8th and 11th grade worked together on Civics Action Projects designed to positively impact their community, learning the process of initiating change to improve the world around them. We are incredibly proud of the work students and teachers have put into these meaningful projects, and deeply grateful to the community members who have shared information, offered valuable insight, and volunteered their time to help make these projects a success.
Have a great weekend!
