At a glance

Hello Dolphins,

We had an outstanding week at D-Y High School. Our 10th graders successfully completed the ELA MCAS, and I was grateful for the opportunity to remind them that this final ELA MCAS is about effort, integrity, and investing in the person they will be in the years ahead.

On Wednesday, our School to Careers Program hosted a “Lunch and Learn” Community Speaker Series event, supported by MassHire: Cape and Islands Workforce Board, featuring keynote speaker Kayla Sibilia, a small business owner who operates a fleet of mobile saunas. Her message energized students and inspired them to bring positive, empowering ideas back to our school community.

I was also impressed by our Farm to Table students, who shared what they have been growing and creating in class, including ingredients for kale smoothies and pesto. They are learning about nutrition while experiencing the value of locally grown produce.

Looking ahead, next week will be another full and exciting week as we prepare for our Decennial NEASC Accreditation visit and welcome our guest speaker from JC Pohl and Teen Truth.

We are also proud to celebrate the teachers and students representing D-Y at the Through Young Eyes art exhibit at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, on display from March 27 through May 17. The reception is this Saturday from 2:00–4:00 p.m., free and open to the public—we hope to see you there!
