At a glance

Hello Dolphins,

The Dennis-Yarmouth Winter Percussion and Winter Guard programs had an exciting and successful week on and off the competition floor. DY Winter Percussion earned an impressive 4th place at the NESBA New England Championships and are now in Dayton, Ohio for the prestigious WGI World Championships. DY Winter Guard captured 5th place at NESBA Champs and won over the audience with a crowd-favorite performance full of energy, expression, and connection. Both groups also brought their full productions to DYIMS, inspiring younger students and showcasing the unique, high-level performance opportunities that only Dennis-Yarmouth offers on Cape Cod.

Students in Visual Arts participated in a drawing unit recently and sent their grid-based portraits and letters to Cross Timbers Bison Ranch in Oklahoma, and owner Dusty Baker wrote back to say it was “one of the coolest gifts we’ve been given,” praising their artwork, craftsmanship, and thoughtful communication. This is a great example of connecting art to nature and applying skills to real world scenarios. Please view the video where Dusty Baker receives D-Y student's art.

We’d also like to give a special shout-out to physical education teacher Ms. Donalson, who recently hosted a pop-up Pilates class here at the high school, bringing students and staff together for a fun and challenging wellness activity. In addition, please take a moment to review the flyer below with details about an upcoming fundraiser at Papa Gino’s and D’Angelo’s on April 22nd; all sales that day will be donated to D-Y’s PTOs and PACs in support of our students and school community.

As we head into April vacation, I want to extend my gratitude to you for your continued partnership and support this year. Our students have been working hard—both in and out of the classroom—and this upcoming break is a well-deserved opportunity for everyone to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. I hope the week ahead brings you moments of joy, connection, and relaxation, whether you’re traveling or enjoying a staycation close to home. We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready to finish the school year strong.

Please view a previous communication that was sent to families regarding the new regulations for students earning their Competency Determination. We kindly ask that you review that important message and support students in their preparation and attendance on the testing days.

See you on April 27th.
