The Dennis-Yarmouth Winter Guard delivered a strong performance last Saturday at the NESBA New England Championships, finishing in 5th place in a very competitive field.
While the placement was solid, what stood out even more was the reaction from the audience. D-Y was clearly a crowd favorite, earning enthusiastic support for a performance that combined expressive movement, strong technique, and a program that connected with people.
“This show has meant a lot to us,” said one student. “To feel that kind of energy from the crowd was really special.”
Throughout the season, the group has continued to grow and refine their performance, and it showed on the Championship floor. Their ability to engage the audience and perform with confidence is something to be proud of.
Programs like the D-Y Winter Guard give students the chance to challenge themselves in a unique way- blending athleticism, creativity, and teamwork into something that goes far beyond a typical classroom experience.
We are the only school on Cape Cod with a competitive Winter Guard, and we’re fortunate that D-Y offers this opportunity to our students.
