Empowering Students to Achieve Excellence

Reunification Drill Volunteers

Posted Date: 06/17/26 (01:17 PM)

Good Afternoon,

I apologize in advance for the two messages on this same topic... learning curve on the new messaging platform by the superintendent. We had to create a new sign up form because the old one had expired.

As part of the district's on-going efforts to enhance our security and safety, we have been working to establish a reunification process that aligns with our Standard Response Protocol for Emergency Management. Reunification protocols help school districts plan for events where a school would need to be evacuated and conditions would NOT allow students to return into the building. In this type of a scenario, D-Y needs to ensure we have a procedure in place to successfully reunite each student with their caregivers. We have been working over this year to establish this process utilizing our existing emergency response protocol and would like to run a small-scale drill to help us "test" our new systems and training.

We are still looking for about 30 volunteers made up of parents, staff, and  students to help us with this drill. We will be conducting the drill on Monday, June 29th from 1-3:30 at D-Y High School. If you are interested in helping us with this drill, please sign up using this form.

Thank you very much for your help and patience with my tech skills,

Marc J. Smith,
Superintendent
