Hello Dolphins,
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, there is a lot to celebrate at D-Y. Below you’ll see picture updates from our Launch to Life course, where students are putting their skills to use and continuing to update and improve our school community.
We also want to recognize some outstanding achievements in athletics and the arts. A huge shout out to our Boys’ Track Team, Cape and Islands League Champions, who capped off their undefeated season with a dramatic come-from-behind win at the League Championship. Down by as many as forty points, the boys battled back to beat Monomoy by one point, clinching the title in the final race of the day. Key contributors included Craig Campbell, Bryson Garcia, Jordan Le Grange, Ledor Auguste, Lorenzzo De Almeida, Xavier DePina, and Dwayne Jowery. Boys Track & Field are your Cape and Islands League Champs, and we’ll have members of both the Boys and Girls Track Teams competing in the Division 5 State Meet on May 29 and May 31 at Bridgewater State University. Our spring teams are also heading into postseason play, with baseball, girls lacrosse, and boys lacrosse all qualifying for the state tournament. Brackets for girls lacrosse are released today, May 22, and for baseball and boys lacrosse on May 27. Over the weekend, the Cape and Islands League held its first annual awards ceremony, where Arabella Alexander and Teddy Angiolillo were honored with the Scholar Athlete Award for their excellence in both the classroom and athletics. A big shout out to everyone involved in the school play. It was a wonderful performance, filled with great music and a heartfelt acknowledgement of our seniors. Way to go, D-Y! Finally, another big shout out to our Pathways to Independence Program! We're so proud of the work you've done this year and it was an honor to be able to recognize the community partners who go above and beyond for our students.
As Senior Week approaches, we’re excited to celebrate the Class of 2026 and all of the memories, traditions, and milestones that come with the end of the school year. Along with the fun and excitement, we also want to encourage students to make safe, responsible decisions so everyone can enjoy the celebration and make it to graduation together. SWIM Like a Dolphin. Smart, Wise, Intelligent and Mindful. Throughout Senior Week, students will see our campaign logo displayed around the school, on cars, and on stickers as a reminder to think before making choices that could impact themselves or others. The campaign promotes positive decision-making, safe driving, looking out for friends, and celebrating responsibly.
Senior Week should be remembered for laughter, friendships, and unforgettable moments — not preventable accidents or poor choices. By wearing and displaying the campaign logo, students are showing their commitment to keeping Senior Week safe, supportive, and memorable for all the right reasons.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
